DONATIONS

Now, more than ever, teens and young people need safe spaces to hang out, have fun, and connect with peers. The pandemic isolated many people, especially middle school, high school, and recent high school graduates.

Countless studies show that youth attendance in out-of-school time programs like The Break, are positively associated with academic and non-academic outcomes including higher academic achievement, less risky behaviors, reduced drinking and drug use, increased engagement in community service, leadership and volunteering opportunities, and better emotional adjustment.

The Break's Circle of Support Program uses the power of community and secondary prevention strategies to empower the next generation of middle schoolers, high schoolers, and young adults and provide easy access to a circle of support. It is at the core of who we are as an organization and how we serve young people in McHenry County.

Every donation to the Break expands capacity to reach more kids and make a difference in their lives. Please consider making a donation today via PayPal or contact Brenda Napholz at brenda@clbreak.com for more information about key projects and sponsorship opportunities.

We currently offer two online donation methods: PayPal and our site's donation system. Please select the option that is most convenient for you.

LAND ACKNOWLEDMENT STATEMENT:

The Break Teen Center in Crystal Lake, Illinois, honors and acknowledges that we are located on the ancestral homelands of the Peoria, Bodwéwadmi (Potawatomi), Myaami, Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (Sioux), Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk), and Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo) tribes. We are deeply grateful to these Nations and to all Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land for generations and who continue to do so today. Their histories, cultures, and ongoing contributions are an essential part of our community’s story. At The Break, we honor this connection by committing ourselves to learning, respect, and relationship-building with Indigenous communities—past, present, and future.
