About the Event

Saturday we will be doing a 5k! Due to the new Illinois Phase 3 guidelines, we will be spacing this out a bit more-- if members or volunteers wish to participate, they can do this between now and Saturday! Due to Phase 3, we encourage members to run the course (below) or a similar course by themselves. Just record or take a pic of yourself running/hiking, and show up with some canned goods for the Crystal Lake Food Pantry at the scheduled time on Saturday! We'll bring out the Chick-Fil-A meal, pick up your canned goods, and see your video/photos!

LAND ACKNOWLEDMENT STATEMENT:

The Break Teen Center in Crystal Lake, Illinois, honors and acknowledges that we are located on the ancestral homelands of the Peoria, Bodwéwadmi (Potawatomi), Myaami, Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (Sioux), Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk), and Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo) tribes. We are deeply grateful to these Nations and to all Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land for generations and who continue to do so today. Their histories, cultures, and ongoing contributions are an essential part of our community’s story. At The Break, we honor this connection by committing ourselves to learning, respect, and relationship-building with Indigenous communities—past, present, and future.
